Coconut oil has been found to have properties that can help with teeth whitening and keeping good oral health by reducing bacteria in your mouth.

When used as a part of the oil pulling technique, coconut oil can help dissolve colors, remove surface stains from teeth by loosening and breaking down the stains caused by food and beverages. Additionally, coconut oil has antibacterial properties that can help reduce harmful bacteria in the mouth, which can lead to better overall oral health.

Oil pulling involves swishing oil around in your mouth for several minutes to remove bacteria and stains from your teeth. Here’s how to use coconut oil for teeth whitening:

  1. Start with a tablespoon of coconut oil. You can use either refined or unrefined coconut oil.
  1. Put the coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around for 15-20 minutes. Make sure you swish it around your teeth and gums.
  1. Spit the oil out into a trash can or tissue. Do not spit it out in the sink, as it can solidify and clog your pipes.
  1. Rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth as you normally would.

When using coconut oil for teeth whitening, it’s generally recommended to oil pull for 15-20 minutes each session. It’s important to note that oil pulling should not be done for longer than 20 minutes as it can lead to muscle fatigue in your mouth and may cause you to swallow the oil, which can upset your stomach.

It’s also important to be consistent with your coconut oil pulling routine if you want to see results. You can do it once a day or a few times a week, depending on your preference.

Remember that coconut oil pulling should not be used as a substitute for regular brushing and flossing.
